About Lulu Appleton

My hypnotherapy sessions are aimed at freeing people to enjoy a new, healthier, happier life. This can mean finding new ways of dealing with all the worries and constraints that can hold you back and prevented you from being the best you can be.

We all worry about different things. Some are small and insignificant to others, but enormous to the worrier. This distortion makes the problem hard to endure.

Making it ’right-size ’, bringing it into the present day, dilutes its impact. This releases the problem and it also releases the person from their emotional prison.

I advise clients to live with a minimum of ’shoulds’ and ’oughts’, worrying less about what others think. I recommend creating their own philosophy for living and trusting their own intelligence and intuition instead.

A combination of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy is a powerful and effective method of discarding things you don’t want in your life and identifying those things you want to achieve.

Our conscious minds are all reason and logic but the unconscious mind runs on pure emotion. If the issue that troubled us was just in our conscious mind, we could stop this minute. Since hypnotherapy accesses the unconscious mind, it can disconnect the old thoughts and behaviours that limit you and which you no longer want - but found you have been unable to stop.

The simplest changes can make a massive difference and turn your life around.

Individual perceptions describe the different ways each one of us sees things: these are unique perceptions, formed from our own lives, shaped by our personal experiences, and their perspective can be clouded or heightened by our emotions.

They emerge from our belief system which probably began in childhood, when the rules we were taught to live by were first set out by parents, and were usually based on what their parents taught them, passing from one generation to the next.

We all experience positive, passionate emotions, which motivate, inspire and enhance our lives. There are also bleak, negative emotions which are just as strongly felt but which produce the opposite effect and which can disturb, depress and paralyse our progress.

But just as life is never either entirely black or white, so it is with our emotions: there are many shades of grey in our attitudes and feelings and it only takes the slightest movement to upset the balance. That’s why balance matters in almost everything.

Get it right, and weight loss can be one of the most rewarding and healthy steps you can take for yourself.

Yes, it can also be challenging and demanding - if you allow it to be. But it can also be simple, much easier than you probably imagined and can leave you feeling absolutely terrific.

Have you ever wondered why it can be so difficult to stop doing something you don’t want to do any more? However illogical, it can seem impossible to discard unwanted habits that may be holding you back. It’s not a lack of willpower or discipline. It’s not physical hunger. It’s Emotional Hunger and it’s your mind telling you to eat, not your body.

Hypnotherapy accesses your unconscious mind, and enables you to disconnect all the old thoughts and habits that sabotage your intentions and get in the way. It can also inspire you and motivate you to lose weight, once and for all, easily, effortlessly and naturally.

You have to give this to yourself. No one can give it to you with compliments or flattery. This is something you earn and give to yourself because you deserve it and it comes from pride in achievements and a sense of your own value.

The way we see ourselves mirrors the way others see us. Comfortable confidence means you don’t change yourself to fit in, you are comfortable with who you are. You know your strengths and your limitations. As your inner confidence emerges, you become your authentic, real self.

Comfortable confidence comes from a sense of your own value. Whether it’s climbing a mountain or cleaning your room, your achievements, however large or small, contribute to a sense of pride.

We can grasp fears with our minds, but anxiety grips us from within. Anxiety is not a condition - it’s a symptom. The brain is signalling that something is not right. Don’t allow yourself to enter victim mode.
Fear is a bully and if you face it, it backs down.

Other concerns & issues I deal with

The first session is always two hours as I like to take a thorough case history before beginning any therapeutic hypnotherapy. After that, subsequent appointments are 90 minutes. I tend to see people on a fortnightly basis, rather than one-hour a week. I find that much more can be achieved with a little more time - one hour goes so quickly - and it also works out less expensive for you.
    Hypnotherapy and psychotherapy

Also, I never book more than four sessions in advance but that said, you may not even need four. This is because four sessions takes you through eight weeks and at the end of that time, most people will see substantial changes. At that point, I like to review the situation with you. I often find people don’t need to attend on a regular basis, if at all, or maybe find a session once a month or once every couple of months might be enough. All this can be assessed on an individual basis.

Clients can ring me any day after 1pm. It is part of the package and you are not abandoned between sessions and should feel free to call. I also send email reminders out after each session as it can be difficult to remember everything afterwards.

Mike, my husband, handles all bookings and you can ring him on our landline or email him, details below. Incidentally, everything you and I discuss is absolutely confidential and all he knows is that you want an appointment. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. I will be happy to help further.
