Further Information

How I work:

I am a humanistic counsellor that works in a person centred way. This means that what we do in each session is entirely up to you, I will not suggest what we should talk about or lead you into talk about anything you are not comfortable with or ready to talk about, you are in control of the content of the session.

I use reflection and questions to try and focus my clients on their feelings, as I believe they are key to us as understanding ourselves and our wants and needs. When working with a short term client I shift the emphasis into working out the solution and will design my questions and reflections to focus a client on that solution, but it is for you to decide what solution would work best for you. I provide a non judgemental space for you to explore your feelings and any issues that you are currently facing.

I focus on the here and now and will not dredge up the past in search of answers, it is for you to decide if you would find looking at the past useful or not.
