- J.W. Health & Physio is a busy physiotherapy practice based in the stunning rural village of Waunfawr, and serving Gwynedd and surrounding areas. With easy access from Caernarfon, Bangor, Porthmadog, Pwllheli and Anglesey, we are your friendly, local physiotherapists.- J.W. Health and Physio Ltd was established in 1996 by Jane Wood, a physiotherapist with a wealth of experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic disorders from her time working in orthopaedics, as well as fracture, rheumatology and shoulder clinics in Manchester and North Wales in both the NHS and private setting. She has now been joined by Alison Smith, who, along with a high proficiency in all physiotherapy techniques, offers women’s health treatments and occupational health techniques and occupational Health assessment and advice.
- Our reputation is based on an approachable, friendly attitude that helps put people at ease during their treatments, while still delivering hands on effective physiotherapy care. With the latest electrical and rehab equipment and techniques, including state of the art gait scanner,our practice offers the highest standard of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
My training, work experience and any achievement
- I qualified in 1989, at Withington School of Physiotherapy, in Manchester.- I worked with in the NHS in Manchester Royal, and then Ysbyty Gwynedd.
- I set up and then managed the rehabilitation services in the gymnasium.
- I have worked in Rheumatology, Orthopeadic/ Fracture, and Specialised Shoulder clinics, run classes, back schools, physiotherapy courses and education programs.
- I established my clinic in 1996, specializing in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic problems, including sports injuries, acupuncture, podiatry.
- I have been the physiotherapist for Bangor Rugby, and Porthmadog Football clubs.
