About Jenny Howell
I retrained as an osteopath after the birth of my second son. I had become convinced of the benefits of cranial osteopathy after seeing good results following treatment on my son for glue ear and asthma.I have worked in many clinics and in the last 4 years have been working in a physio and pilates clinic as an osteopath. I have gained valuable experience especially in exercise prescription, taping and rehab work.
I work using a variety of techniques such as mobilisation, manipulation, muscle energy techniques, taping as well as soft-tissue techniques, visceral and cranial osteopathy.
I believe it is very important to address the cause(s) of the complaint whilst treating the patient. This involves giving advice about posture at work and at home, exercise,diet, and other lifestyle issues.
I work from home which allows me to be flexible about my appointments. Unfortunately my clinic is not wheelchair accessible but I am able to do home visits where necessary.
My training, work experience and any achievement
I graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 with a 2(i) Honours degree on Osteopathic Medicine BSc Ost Med ND DO. Part of the course was naturopathy which refers to non-medical treatment such as hydrotherapy, exercise prescription, diet and lifestyle advice.I completed a Post graduate Cranial Osteopathy Level 2 training at the Sutherland Cranial College in 2006.
I have attended many other courses to keep up to date and further my skills as part of my ongoing professional development in areas such as exercise, taping, manipulation and many others.
I have worked in a variety of clinics since 2005 as well as working from home.
