About Joanne Crovini
After taking a full medical history you will be provided with recommendations incorporating changes to nutritional intake and lifestyle as well as supplements and further testing if needed. The advice given is practical and aims to reflect your lifestyle and budget whilst still addressing your health concerns. You will be given a detailed diet sheet including what foods and nutrients to increase and what foods to avoid as well as recipes and nutrition fact sheets for particular conditions.
My aim as a Nutritionist is to fully understand the symptoms you’re suffering, how these symptoms link together and how they impact your life. I want to help you make changes that’ll improve your diet and health for the long term.
You don’t have to be "ill" to benefit from a personalised nutritional therapy consultation. Changing your diet is a good way to achieve optimum health as well as help with a huge range of conditions.
I recommend a follow up consultation four weeks after this initial meeting. Follow-ups are important to monitor progress and discuss what is and what isn’t working for you. We can tweak the nutrition programme, or where several conditions are present change the nutrition programme to reflect these needs.
Allow an hour and 15 minutes for the initial nutritional consultation and 45 minutes for the follow up consultation.
My training, work experience and any achievement
My qualifications started with a BA Hons in Psychology from the University of Wales, Swansea. I then qualified as a Nutritional Therapist after completing a three year diploma in Nutrition with The College Of Naturopathic Medicine in Bristol. My course included lectures on anatomy and physiology as well as how to help specific conditions with nutritional intervention. I also completed clinical practice over two years where I initially observed my Nutritional Therapy lecturer with patients and then went on to take cases and prescribe nutritional interventions myself.
I am a member of The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT). BANT is a professional body that promotes the highest standards of education, practice and ethics in its Nutritionist members and encourages Continued Professional Development (CPD).
I am also a member of The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which means I have demonstrated I meet all aspects of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and have completed all levels of the Core Curriculum (CC) for Nutritional Therapy. The CNHC is a government recognised regulatory body for complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and is funded by the Department of Health (DoH).
I am fully insured with Balens who provide specialist insurance for health professionals including Nutritionists. Further Information
TESTIMONIALS:
Malcolm, Cardiff: I went to Joanne earlier this year with a couple of problems I have had for some time. She is very easy to talk to and knows what she is talking about. After seeing her I quickly found that my problems disappeared. My diet is now much better, which allows me to participate in the activities I enjoy without running out of energy and feeling exhausted.
Kate, Cardiff: Coming to you was honestly some of the best money I’ve ever spent - my attitude to food and my body has completely changed, and I have so much more energy and generally enjoy food a lot more! So I’m very happy to recommend you!
Lara, Guildford: I was embarking on a trip abroad and I knew I wouldn’t be getting the right vitamins and minerals, and what Jo prescribed was perfect. I felt great on the supplements, my skin looked bright, I had energy and it sorted out all the problems we initially discussed. I am still taking the supplements and still feel great
John, Cardiff: I visited Jo after deciding that at 37 I needed to make some changes. It’s been very easy to take her advice on board and fit it in to my schedule. With a few simple changes to my diet I’m pleased to see I’m feeling healthier within a few months.
Louise, London: I could not believe what an impact it had on how I felt and my body!!!! Weight dropped off me and I felt like I had a balanced amount of energy rather than ups and downs through the day. Some simple bits of advice to follow made the world of difference and I am really grateful for everything I learnt!
