About Caroline Carr
I am a hypnotherapist, life coach and Founder of LET THE SUNSHINE IN at lettingthesunshinein.com - a unique recourse for those who want to connect with their bright side, especially when their partner is depressed. I am the author of several self help books, and a teacher of Laughter Yoga too.
Hypnotherapy is a gentle, brief and effective way of dealing with a whole range of issues. Just a few sessions can make a tremendous difference to your life.
My story:
I used to work in theatre and television production, and then after having children switched to working in education and the criminal justice system. I spent many years teaching drama, and running groups and one-to-one therapy sessions with a range of clients before becoming a life coach and hypnotherapist nine years ago.
When I was in my 20s I developed what we now know as a generalised anxiety disorder (GAD.) At the time I had no idea what was the matter with me, and I was so frightened - I thought that I was losing my mind. And I felt embarrassed - I didn’t want any one to know. I worried that I’d never get back to my old self. But eventually I did, and I feel I grew stronger because of the experience. I’ve since written a book about anxiety: HOW NOT TO WORRY - how to stop anxiety spoiling your life.
Many years later my husband became depressed. That had a massive effect on myself, our daughters, and of course - on him. Much of the work I do now has come about as a direct result of that. I also wrote a book about my experience: LIVING WITH DEPRESSION - how to cope when your partner is depressed.

My training, work experience and any achievement
I hold a Diploma in Advanced Structured Hypnotherapy, and I’m a Validated Practitioner of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. I was trained personally by Valerie Austin, an internationally recognised hypnotherapist. I’m also a qualified life coach (Diploma), and Laughter Yoga teacher (Certificate)
I’ve been interviewed on television and radio and have contributed to a range of publications and magazines, including The Independent, The Daily Mail, Sunday Express, Good Housekeeping, SHE, Best, Prima, Women’s Weekly, and various health publications. In the past I have been Agony Aunt for A Single Step, the magazine of the
