About Daisy Therapy
Daisy Therapy is a safe and thoughtful space to explore things that might be having a negative impact on your life.
We all feel down or worried about things at times. We all have our own ways of doing things. Anger is a normal human emotion that we all experience at times.
However, these things can sometimes take over our lives and stop us enjoying ourselves in the way we want to. It can affect our jobs and our relationships with other people and our sleep and eating patterns and even our physical health.
Below are some examples of how we can be affected when things do take over our lives.
• Feeling down all the time and not able to do the things you want/need to?
• Maybe you feel anxious all the time and want to feel calmer?
• Have trouble leaving the house and would like it to be easier?
• Spend a lot of time worrying about what others think of you?
• Get really angry all the time and it’s getting in the way of your life?
• Experience distressing panic attacks?
• Worry too much about your health?
• Have to check things all the time, do things in certain ways, have weird thoughts that you can’t get out of your head?
• Worry about how you look and/or eat too much or too little
• Have experienced a traumatic event that continues to haunt you?
• Fear of specific things
Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is a psychological talking therapy with the strongest evidence base for helping people to overcome these difficulties.
Contact me to find out how I can help you to get your life back to where you want it to be using CBT. I am also qualified in other techniques that can help, such as mindfulness and hypnotherapy. Combined or using just one technique your life can be the way you want it to be.
My training, work experience and any achievement
I am a registered mental health nurse (registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), pin number: 1864636). I work in the NHS and in private practice and am bound by the ethics and code of conduct of the NMC. I am really proud to be a nurse and have had the pleasure of working with children, adolescents (I prefer the term young people) and adults.
I have a degree in Mental Health Nursing and have undertaken training in CBT, mindfulness, mentalisation, systemic (family work) therapy and solution focused therapy. I am also registered with the BABCP and working towards accreditation. I also hold a certificate in counseling.
I work with clients experiencing
depression, self harm and feelings of suicidality and many anxiety disorders such as panic, generalised anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), agoraphobia,
phobias, health anxieties and social phobia (fear of social situations such as meeting new people, giving presentations or speeches and so on). I also have undertaken training in CBT for psychosis.
In addition I have experience of working with people of all ages with learning disabilities, Autism and Aspergers through a specialist NHS team in London.
Hypnotherapy
I became quite fascinated by the power of hypnotherapy about 3 years ago. I therefore undertook a diploma in clinical hypnotherapy that is validated by the General Hypnotherapy Council in Advanced Regression Hypnotherapy, Past Life Regression Hypnotherapy, Suggestion Hypnotherapy and Smoking Cessation.
Hypnosis is an amazing therapy that can work quickly with many difficulties. Examples are:
phobias, smoking cessation, anxiety,
depression, weight loss, confidence and relaxation.
There is much interest in past life regression. It is fascinating and during my training I undertook several past life regressions myself. If you would like to do a past life regression then please give me a ring. I practice therapeutic past life regressions only. This means that we will go back to a life that will help you in some way in your current incarnation.
Please note that I cannot work with ladies who are pregnant with hypnosis or anyone with schizophrenia. For schizophrenia then I can work with you using CBT instead.
I greatly enjoy working with people from all backgrounds, ages and cultures. Please feel to give me a ring to chat over anything you think you would like some help with or with any questions you may have. I will be delighted to hear from you.
