About Janice Smith
How the mind works has always been fascinating to me, so after gaining a Higher Advanced Diploma in applied Social Sciences. I then decided in 1998 to complete an intensive Clinical and Therapeutic Hypnotherapy training course with the Twa Acres Natural Therapy Centre in Blairgowrie, Scotland. To further my learning I then completed a post graduate course with the same therapy centre in 2001.
I have also had a long standing interest in language and non-verbal communication.
Language and the tone used affect us in so many ways. E.g when someone is angry, frustrated or anxious everyone feels it, even though the issues are not theirs, the feeling of unease penetrates everyone in the vicinity. Equally language used in a happy, calm and relaxed manner can lift the spirits of anyone listening.
Non - verbal communication uses body language to portray information. E.g. How a knowing glance can raise the happiest of smiles, on the other hand how a furrowed brow shows discontent.
Language is what shapes the thought process, and the way it is used is paramount,. I was delighted when approximately 20 years ago I read an article about a man called Richard Bandler (co-creator of NLP). As he is an American I thought I would never meet him, but the article was fascinating and I was hooked. Over the years I continued researching the subject found and a course where Richard was training NLP in London. I attended the NLP Practitioner course with Richard and Paul McKenna in 2004, (Paul McKenna Training).
I then completed the NLP Master Practitioner in 2008 also with Richard and Paul. I continue to keep myself updated with new and revolutionary NLP techniques.
I now work from my office in Inverurie, if you or your company have any questions or queries as to how I can help you
