About Odysseus Hypnotherapy
I’m Philip Roberts of Odysseus Hypnotherapy and am a proponent of evidence based practice. My approach to hypnotherapy incorporates the best research evidence into the decision making process for client care. My work with clients is influenced by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which provides a wealth of evidence to support my techniques and advance therapeutic outcomes. The field of hypnosis alone benefits from published studies which lend weight to its effectiveness. I often draw on techniques from the field of Neuro Linguistic Programming to enhance the client experience. I am a member of The National Council for Hypnotherapy and am registered with The Complementary & natural Healthcare Council.
My training, work experience and any achievement
I hold the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD). The HPD is a Level 4 qualification which is held by over 20% of UK practitioners and enables admittance to all UK professional bodies for hypnotherapy. It meets the UK’s National Occupational Standards for hypnotherapy practice.
I have undertaken further studies and training with the Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis leading to certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and ha also trained and qualified as a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) with the Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis.

Choosing the right therapist for you is so important which is why I provide a free confidential 30 minute initial consultation by phone or Skype. This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have, find out more about hypnosis and discuss the issue you need help with.
Therapy is provided in person at our private consultation room in Biggleswade Bedfordshire or by Skype for clients throughout the UK and internationally. Philip enjoys meeting clients face-to-face but offering telehypnosis in his practice provides clients with more choice (and him with the opportunity of seeing clients he would otherwise not have met). Some clients have a need for telehypnosis such as being in a location where access to therapy, or a therapist that is right for them, is restricted. Other clients simply prefer the convenience and the reduced time and cost of travelling. Telehypnosis can be a positive experience and just as effective as face-to-face sessions.
