About New Leaf Life design
MSc | PGdip CounsI am a qualified counsellor and supervisor with a wide experience of helping people resolve difficulties. I feel very passionately about helping people move forwards in life. I also like to combine my counselling with coaching.
Experience gained over many years has helped me develop an insight and ability to identify, evaluate and address the core issues facing people. Clients have told me I am very welcoming and make them feel comfortable.I have a lovely counselling room based in a beautiful peaceful setting.
I have a Diploma in Counselling and hold a Master of Science Degree in Counselling Research awarded by the University of Bristol.
I have a busy counselling and coaching practice and also hold community based courses which help people lose weight and re-design their lives.
I have directed New Leaf Life Design since its formation in 1992. I have 13 associate counsellors who work for me across Somerset. I know we all deliver an excellent service to our clients.
I am a senior accredited member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a member of the Association for Coaching.

My training, work experience and any achievement
Much of my experience has grown from work within the prison service. I was Involved in teaching assertiveness, drug, alcohol and stress management courses to inmates, I also delivered Post Traumatic Stress Counselling to Somerset Probation Service Offenders and 40 Marine Commando Taunton.I have presented my work entitled “Anger management through peer education a new approach” at the Howard League Conference for Penal Reform. In 1998 I presented a similar workshop at the NACROS conference in Sheffield entitled Youth 2000. I also became a finalist in the Cosmopolitan Woman of Achievement Awards in 1999 for my work in education. In 2000 I was co-awarded the, “Innovation in Training Award,” by Pavilion Publishing for my co-authored pack entitled, “ Get Sorted with Drugs & Alcohol.” In June 2011 I presented at the first BACP Coaching Conference. In May 2013 I presented at the Open Innovation event at Dillington.
I have been a keynote speaker at the Annual general meeting of the Taunton Women’s Refuge and TAP ( Taunton Association for Psychodynamics).
I am a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the Winston Churchill Trust.
