About Reflections Therapy Centre
Welcome to Reflections Counselling service and thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
Reflections Counselling is a confidential adult counselling service which aims to help people who are experiencing a range of difficulties to find solutions and offer a safe space for healing from traumatic life events.
My name is Paula Lough and I run Reflections Counselling full time from my home in Kirkby, Liverpool. I am an integrative counsellor meaning I don’t subscribe to just one model of counselling. As we are all unique I tailor my approach by combining different theories to suit the individual needs of each client. I am trained and qualified in Person-Centred counselling, Psychodynamic counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I am also on the BACP Proficiency register for counsellors & Psychotherapists.
Anyone from the age of 18 years of age can access short or long term therapy here. Clients can self refer and I accept referrals from other sources
My training, work experience and any achievement
I work with a variety of therapeutic theories and tailor my approach to suit the individual needs of the client.
I provide a warm empathic safe space where my clients and I work together to explore and resolve the challenges that are preventing them from getting on with their life journey.
I always work to the clients agenda and needs therefore I am flexible in the amount of sessions I can offer any individual client.

Further Information
What is counselling?
Counselling is a process where a trained and qualified therapist provides a safe, therapeutic and confidential environment for you to explore your current difficulties. Counselling gives you the opportunity to be listened to by another human being without judgement or agenda and help and support you in finding resolution or healing from whatever is causing the problems that has brought you into therapy.
How can counselling help?
Building a trusting relationship and talking through your thoughts and feelings with your therapist can be extremely beneficial and healing. It may be that you are the one that everyone turns to and feel no one is there for you, or you may feel disturbed by some of your thoughts and feelings and feel unable to confide in someone close to you for fear of being judged or misunderstood. Counselling helps you to gain understanding into your current difficulties and help you feel you are a person of worth. We all have a unique view of the world we live in and as a therapist I work to see things from your perspective and support you in a warm and sensitive manner to increase your self awareness so that you can make decisions that are right for you.
