About Kirsten Pick
Sometimes you may feel stuck in your life or feel you have problems that appear to have no tangible solution. Perhaps you have experienced difficult life changing events from which you feel you cannot heal. Psychodynamic Counselling may help you to navigate a more fulfilling way to understand and deal with your current situation. We won’t erase the past; my aim is to help you experience it from a different, less painful perspective.
I appreciate each person’s uniqueness and work with people from all walks of life in a way that respects culture, values, beliefs, choices and sexual orientation.
I am passionate about counselling because I think it can enable people to move forward in their lives towards a more positive future.
I am able to help if you would prefer to have sessions speaking German.
My training, work experience and any achievement
I trained at the University of Brighton where I qualified with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.
I have gained experience working at:
Mid Sussex Counselling Centre where I worked with clients long term on an open ended basis,
CRI where I completed Drug and
Alcohol Training, helping clients change their behaviour towards a substance,
Patched where I completed training on counselling families and cares of substance users,
Dialogue where I completed training regarding safeguarding for children and Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect.
This has given me the opportunity to work within a wide variety of settings, such as open ended counselling and within 12 sessions.
I am a member of BACP and therefore work within their ethical framework.
