About Central Scotland Counselling & Psychotherapy
                                Shirley MacKenzie is an experienced practitioner with 20+years clinical experience of working to support individual clients or couples.  She works in private practice in city centre locations in Edinburgh and Stirling.  She offers psychotherapy, EMDR, counselling, clinical supervision to other therapists and trains student counsellors.
She is also experienced in organisational work in the areas of human resources, dignity and wellbeing in the workplace.
Shirley offers a safe, confidential setting for clients to explore areas of concern, distress or unhappiness.   She offers complimentary phone contact to welcome enquiries about whether counselling is right for you.

								                                There are different modalities of counselling; Shirley is trained and accredited in Transactional Analysis (CTA) and is a member of both UKATA and UKCP & on their register of practitioners. She also practices EMDR which is now recommended by the NHS as part of NICE guidelines for trauma & deep distress.

                                            Shirley supports clients who wish to make changes in their life due to current unhappiness, general stress, low mood or an awareness of repeating problems that impact the quality of life or relationships.  Clients also come because they’ve experienced a trauma either recent or in the past that still causes upset.
