About Nicky Defries
I offer therapy to anyone suffering from emotional difficulties. This could be a problem that is directly related to a particular incident, or it could be a general feeling of dis-ease, making it difficult to pin point the origin of the difficulty.I aim to offer a safe space, where without judgement you are helped to explore all aspects of your difficulties.
I am very happy to invite you to come for an initial meeting which will allow you to discuss your situation with me, and then make a decision about how you would like to proceed.

My training, work experience and any achievement
I am trained as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, with over twelve years post qualification experience. I am registered with United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists.I have a background in Social Work, specializing in Adult Learning Difficulties, Adolescents and Visual Impairment. I was a volunteer with the Samaritans prior to training as a Psychodynamic Counsellor, which lead me into my final training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
I worked for over 20 years at a Psychiatric Hospital, where I not only saw individuals, but facilitated groups on anger and eating disorders
I have a private practice in London.
I am a qualified and experienced Supervisor to Diploma level, and am registered with B.A.P.P.S. and U.K.C.P. as a supervisor.
I supervise Counsellors, Psychologists and Psychotherapists.
