Perhaps support is needed for feelings of low self esteem; a bereavement; anxiety; depression, anger management, a transition such as leaving home/a relationship; a change in your personal life; in your health; workplace stress; personal growth etc.
Perhaps something from the past is still unresolved.......
if so counselling can help
Being heard in counsellling can help you come to a deeper understanding of yourself and what matters.
Counselling aims to support you as you begin to come to terms with the unchangeable, make
decisions about things you can (and want) to change, and begin to put them into practice.
My training, work experience and any achievement
The quality of the relationship you and your Counsellor create together plays an important part in any change.
Our first meeting together gives you a sense of how you would feel working with me.
This initial consultation allows us to meet face to face and talk about your counselling needs. Counselling is a collaborative process. If we decide to begin counselling together we can agree a regular appointment time. Counselling sessions take place on a weekly basis and maybe for a fixed number of sessions or open-ended

Other concerns & issues I deal with
My original training is in psychodynamic counselling.
Since then I have trained in many other ways of counselling, including using cognitive behavioural therapy tools. Each person is different, so at our first meeting I will listen to your counselling needs and this will inform how I might work with you. This can change over time as your needs change and as you progress.
As well as offering support in the areas already mentioned, I have eleven years experience in the field of smoking cessation as a stop smoking counsellor and debrief facilitator so understand and am skilled in offering support in withdrawing from addictive behaviours.
My counselling experience is expansive including offering long term counselling within the voluntary sector. The settings in which I have offered short term counselling include one year as an honorary student counsellor within a university; an honorary counsellor within two London hospitals for a year and a half; bereavement counselling for a well know bereavement charity;short term counselling within the charity sector.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work for an employee assistance program, so am experienced in offering support in relation to workplace issues.
My current voluntary work is for a well known mental health charity, offering face to face counselling to clients who may be referred by their g.p., psychiatrist
Other trainings includes Reiki I and Reiki II trainings
