Vanessa has been practising acupuncture for 21 years, first of all training in Five Element Acupuncture at the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Leamington Spa in which she graduated with an award for outstanding progress. However, Vanessa decided that, whilst useful in the treatment of many medical problems this branch of acupuncture did not offer the degree of comprehensive care that she was looking to give, especially for the treatment of pain issues, so she undertook another 3 years training at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, learning Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture. Having completed this course, she felt she had a much more rounded perspective and knowledge of treating conditions that commonly affect people in the Western world, and also gave her many more diagnostic tools. Acupuncture can be successful in treating a vast number of both emotional and physical complaints; including stress, insomnia, depression, anxiety, PMT, menstrual disorders, infertility, migraine, IBS, fibromyalgia, palpitations, ME, breathlessness, asthma, stroke, abdominal pain, Bell’s palsy, back pain, childbirth, diarrhoea, constipation, fatigue, hay-fever, and many other complaints. Vanessa now practises at the Multiple Sclerosis Centre in Hereford, as well as from her home. She has also trained in and has great experience in detoxing people from any kind of substance abuse. Vanessa also practises Tui Na massage, and usually combines a massage and acupuncture treatment in one session. Vanessa offers a 15 minute slot with no charge to assess if acupuncture would be a suitable treatment for your condition.

Further Information
If you’re trying acupuncture for the first time, it’s perfectly natural to feel a little apprehensive.
So, for a little extra peace of mind, here’s a guide to what you can expect from your visit to the Hereford Acupuncture Clinic.
To begin with, Vanessa will hold an initial, in-depth consultation that involves looking into your medical history. She’ll find out more about any dietary issues, emotional problems and lifestyle factors that might be affecting you. It’s also useful if you bring a list of any medication that you might be on.
Vanessa always uses fine, sterile, single-use acupuncture needles, which are inserted through a plastic guide tube that’s pressed against your skin. The insertion takes no time at all, and you’ll barely even feel it, although there might be a short-lived dull ache or tingling.
Once the needles are inserted, they might be left in place for up to thirty minutes, during which time many patients experience a sense of relaxation.
Acupuncture can treat most conditions including stress, insomnia, depression, anxiety, PMT, menstrual disorders, infertility,
migraine
, IBS, fibromyalgia, palpitations, ME, breathlessness, asthma, stroke, abdominal pain, Bell’s palsy, back pain, childbirth, diarrhoea, constipation, fatigue, hay-fever, stress incontinence, prolapse, dizziness, knee pain, arthritis, and many others.
Acupuncture originated in China and other far eastern cultures where it still features in mainstream healthcare, both as a stand-alone therapy and in combination with conventional western medicine. Acupuncture is now widely used and accepted all over the world. Members of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) practise acupuncture based on Chinese medicine principles that have been developed, researched and refined for over 2,000 years.
Acupuncture works to maintain the body’s equilibrium. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of ‘qi’, the body’s vital energy. For a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, qi can become disturbed, depleted or blocked, which can result in symptoms of pain, illness and disease. In certain instances, traditional acupuncture can be an effective therapy to help restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony.
Treatment is aimed at the root cause of your condition as well as your symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhance your feeling of wellbeing. You may notice other niggling problems resolve as your main health complaint improves.
Vanessa is the best at what she does, I would recommend her highly
