What Following Your Passion Really Feels Like

We all hear wise people say - follow your dreams. You probably dreamed about being a doctor, lawyer or accountant when you were a kid. Or maybe, you had more sophisticated dream like becoming a pop start, a multi-awarded actor or a business tycoon. We all have dreams. These dreams are those that are aligned with our passion and interest. And no matter how bizarre it may seem, we all want our dreams to come true.

But sometimes, things happen along the way - most are those we didn’t expect to happen. Financial challenges, career changes, and all other things can make it hard for us to follow our real passion.

Difficult as it may seem, following what your heart truly desires is one of the amazing things you can experience. Here are the reasons why.

It’s fun and enjoyable.

Doing what you love is the most fun thing ever! Whether it’s baking, sketching, playing music or inspiring people - it feels like every second spent on it is worth it. You may feel tired from time to time, but you will never get fed up. Just because your job is way different from what you really love to do, it doesn’t mean that you can no longer pursue your passion. You can choose to dedicate time to it. It’s a great way to keep the balance in your life.

It stimulates your creativity.

Whenever you are doing something you really like, all your focus is on it which makes it easy for your brain to process ideas and get creative. Creativity can lead to unbelievable outcomes and bring you to greater heights. Pursuing your passion can be challenging but your mind and body works together to bring you the energy and creativity you need to get going. That’s the big difference between doing what your heart wants and what other people expect from you.

You’d never know what you are capable of.

Because you are filled with energy, creativity and drive, you might be surprised to know that you are actually capable of doing great things. Some people do well in careers they are not passionate about. Just imagine how they will do if they are actually doing things that they love! Ask yourself - what am I really capable of? Maybe you are doing well enough. But who knows you could do better? There are endless of opportunities out there. You just have to seek. Remember the saying - when you really want something, the universe conspires to make it a reality.

You don’t need to quit your job today to follow your true passion. You don’t have to. The great thing about pursuing your passion is that you can take the baby steps. Do it one single step at a time. There is no need to rush. You might not get there that fast, but you will experience fun and happiness along the way. This makes your journey so much meaningful and worth it.
