Never Worry Again With This Top 10 Guide!

Lisa Franchi January 10, 2013

Every one of us wants nothing but the best in life. We want everything to happen accordingly and as planned, whether it’s about our career, relationship, or family. Our perfectionist tendencies however, subconsciously push us to adopt a stressful lifestyle. We strive hard to achieve our goals. At the same time, we worry that we may not hit them. While worrying is crucial in a sense that it spurs you to take action, constant worrying may bring you more harm than good. Why? Basically, too much worrying saps your energy, makes you more stressed and overly anxious, and it may interfere with your daily life.

Did you know that the average Brit spends five years of their life worrying? Worrying at all times will never help you. So before you get stressed and all, here are some great ways to defeat your worries:

1. Understand that too much worrying is never going to help. Constant worrying makes you anxious and stressed. As a result, you become less productive and unable to make good decisions.

2. Turn the worrying into a puzzle, a challenge. So you can’t help but worry. Fine. But instead of burdening yourself, why not try to conquer it? Instead of thinking about what may possibly happen, think of how you can resolve potential issues.

3. Don’t think about what MIGHT happen. No one can ever predict what’s going to happen later, tomorrow and on the coming days! If you keep on thinking ‘what if’, you’re simply wasting energy – which you need to work on your goals.

4. Life is full of the unexpected, except life is like this. Every day is not always sunny. Neither it is always rainy. Once you accept this fact, you will be able to manage your worries because you recognise the possibility of failing. Build a tolerance.

5. Learn the art of optimism. Negative thoughts fuel worrying and anxiety. Never let negative thoughts and emotions overwhelm you. Always find a way to smile.

6. Don’t hide from your worries. Do not suppress your worries because you never can. Worrying is hardwired in our brain. You simply have to acknowledge them and then move on!

7. Schedule time for your worrying. Never let worrying eat your day! If your life is stressful, find suitable ways to express it.

8. Don’t get stuck with worries, find solutions. Your worries should be compensated with appropriate solutions. Don’t just sit there and worry. Do something!

9. Sleep it over. You don’t really want to take your worries with you as you sleep, or else, you will wake up the next day anxious and feeling less energetic. Before going to bed, write down all your worries on a piece of paper. You will be surprised on how this simple activity can lighten up your mood.

10. Live in the now. Stay in the moment. Remember tip number #3? No one can tell what’s going to happen in the future. Nevertheless, you are capable of making the future more favourable for you. How? Live in the now and do your best!
