We all have busy lives and are constantly having to juggle between work, family, daily chores, leisure time and all of the other things in our lives. Often trying to fit in new things is difficult even when we know they are good for us. We know that we should be eating less, eating more healthily and doing more exercise. But wholesale change can be tough.

Sometimes trying to be healthier just seems too big a task.  We are constantly being bombarded with different and often conflicting advice, for being slimmer, healthier and fitter which gets confusing and so we put off making any changes at all.

So let me introduce you to TNT!  TNT stands for Tiny Noticeable Things.  By doing Tiny Noticeable Things we can make a real difference to our health and happiness.

Here are some suggestions to get you started:

•   Park a bit further away from the supermarket or office and walk a few steps further each day

•   Each time you go up the stairs, go back down and up again

•   Use the stairs rather than the lift or get off the lift a floor or two below your usual floor and walk the rest of the way

•   Have one more portion of fruit or vegetables than you usually would

•   Leave a spoonful or forkful of food on the plate

•   Drink one more glass of water than you usually do

•   Eat one less potato or a spoonful less of rice or pasta

•   Swap your morning Latte to an Americano

•   Swap your favourite chocolate bar for a couple of squares of dark chocolate

•   Try Fartlek walking – walk as fast as you can from one streetlamp to the next, then back to normal pace to the next streetlamp and then speed up again to the next streetlamp.

Try these Tiny Noticeable Things and add in some of your own and soon you will be on your way to changing your habits and you will be making a BIG difference in your life and your health.
