Five Core Values Happy People Uphold

We all have that one happy gal in our social circle who seem to never have any problem at all. The person who always greets people with a smile and cheers up everyone’s mood with their positivity and kind words. We all envy them most of the time, especially when we are feeling lonely, tired, stressed out, and sad.

Well, the truth is that no person is always happy. We all go through ups and downs as well as high and lows in our life. Staying happy takes effort too. But what is more important are our values. Below are the core values that cheery people always live by. Incorporating them in your own may pave way to greater happiness and satisfaction in your life.

Gratitude

Gratitude is essential to happiness. Being happy starts with appreciating what you have in life – big or small. Happy people celebrate small wins and acknowledge even their smallest accomplishments. You could be making six figures a month but still feel dissatisfied. It is hard to wish for more when we can’t fully appreciate what we already have. So if you want to be truly happy, start by cultivating a sense of gratefulness within yourself.

Humour

Laughter is the best medicine, so they say. In this very stressful world, humour is something that we all need. Happy people smile more and laugh more. What’s more, they find ways to even laugh harder. Laughter boosts not only your spirit but your body as well. The more you smile and laugh, the more your brain releases essential hormones that nourish your body.

Positivity

The one thing that keeps happy people going is their positive attitude and outlook in life. Simply believing that there is a way to fix every problem already helps you manage your stress levels and keep you going. Fostering optimism may require a lot of hard work. But once you get to the right mind set, you will be thankful. Positivity can change your life and make it worth living.

Self-love.

Happy people practice extraordinary self-love. It is hard to be happy and spread happiness when you feel empty inside, or when you feel nothing but self-hate. Loving yourself can be hard to do especially when you have gone through a difficult or traumatic experience. But it is key to happiness and satisfaction in life. Having a daily journal, exercising and meditating are among the ways we can practice self-care.

Friendship

Happy people have a high level of social interaction. They love being with others, learning from them, and sharing their wisdom in return. Happy people find joy in reaching out to others, supporting them, and helping them in any way they can. They surround themselves with people who are positive like them.
